BBQ at our place

Romeo's cousin came up from Brisvegas with the army this week. So we had a BBQ in his honour (and to show our nephews the new house).

Lion made us laugh when he asked me "Aunty Juliet, where are all the toys?". When I replied "we don't have any".... well his expression looked like it was the end of the world.

Being newlyweds and never having children of our own, we only have board games to entertain our guests. Luckily Wolf and Mr Sunshine knew where to look :) they ended up playing Romeo's favourite MONOPOLY ! it was funny to watch them exchanging fake money and moving their pieces .... because Dragon can't count.

I think we'll need to borrow some kids toys and baby safe stuff from Grannysaurus' or the McTavish's.

Apart from Snoopy being a bit naughty, it was a lovely night
.

Some sad news

Some sad news... Patch will be going to doggy heaven very soon.

He's about 13 years old and he seems to be getting slower and sadder everytime i see him.

Romeo and I will miss him but know he won't be in any more pain :(

I think the saddest part will be seperating patch and tank (father and son).

Kids on swings

I saw Dragon Lady today, & she reminded me to update this blog.

(i know it's been a while.... but not much has been happening)

So here are some photos i found on the camera.

It was a couple weeks ago when a bunch of us met up for fish & chips at the beach.

There was Dragon Lady, Mr Sunshine, Chimera, DH, Cheetah, Little Bear, Romeo & me.

I mainly got photos of the kids, cos the adults weren't doing anything exciting :)

(i recommend clicking on the image to enlarge it)

So, what do you think Dragon Lady?? Are they cute or what!!

The escape artist

I guess we were a bit naive to think moving a working dog of 10 years into lonely retirement over night would be easy.

Apparently, Patch loves company 24/7. Whether it's someone he knows or not :)

Yesterday he dug out under the fence to reach 'freedom'. (Which just meant exploring the neighbours front yards & getting some ice cream from an old lady).

Lucky for us, our neighbours are pretty friendly and like dogs. (Especially gentle giants who lay on their backs & want a belly rub.)

Last night we went to the shops and got Patch a silver chained collar. We bought a metal tag & quickly got it engraved with our phone numbers. He looks so 'bling' with it on :)

So after Romeo barricaded the hole in the fence, all seemed well. Patch spent a cosy night inside with us while we watched TV. (He must have been pretty tired from his adventure, cos he slept like a big heavy log... and snored louder than Romeo did!!)

Early this morning (just after Romeo left for work) i heard a loud bang from outside. I knew Patch had escaped again. i got up and walked to the front door, and there was our neighbour about to ring the doorbell. I thanked him for bringing Patch back. Once Patch was inside, he wimpered and searched the house looking for Romeo. His big brown eyes looked so disappointed when all he could find was me.

With the back gate now broken open, i figured the best place for him was with Romeo at work. I gave him a quick phone call and he came home to collect his lonely gentle giant.

i just hope he stays clean & doesn't get any more ticks from the other dogs at work.

Swapping new for old (dogs that is)

Snoopy (the puppy) has started his work as a 'guard dog'.

But i think he's having too much fun playing with Tank.

We thought it was time to retire Patch.
So far he's enjoying soft green grass,
getting plenty of attention &
not having to fight for his food.

After giving him a quick bath,

we can now see the true colours in his fur :)

What a gentle giant ...and a bit of a wuss too.

i love having Patch around for company,
but i'm still gonna miss my little baby.. Snoopy.
I'm glad he's not far away if i want to visit him :-)

Introducing baby McTavish

Little baby "Monkey McTavish". He's so tiny.

Romeo & I finally met our newest nephew.
We didn't want to hand him back to his mummy.

Romeo's great with kids, & he likes being
a big kid with his older nephews & nieces.

aawww... so cute :)

Monkeys big brothers are so loving. It's beautiful :)
